Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County; Volunteer Opportunities

Court Advocacy Program
Court Advocate volunteers provide guidance and assistance through the legal system as it
pertains to domestic violence. Volunteers assist with writing restraining orders, making
referrals for other services, assisting with no-contact orders, etc. Volunteers work one 4-
hour shift per week at the courthouse in Wakefield.

Direct Service Volunteers (Drop-in Center)
Helpline Volunteers directly support victims of domestic violence and their children.
Volunteers provide information, referrals, emotional support, and crisis intervention by
answering the agency’s Helpline and greeting guests who stop into the center located in
Wakefield. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am-4:30 pm. We ask for a
commitment of one 4-hour shift per week.

Court Advocacy Program

Maintenance Volunteer
Maintenance volunteers help with the overall upkeep and repairs of our buildings. This
volunteer role would best suit someone who enjoys doing general maintenance indoors, as
well as outdoors. Ensuring that our building looks neat and tidy all year round!

DVRC provides a comprehensive range of services for victims of domestic violence and their children, including a confidential Safe Home, Transitional Housing and Permanent Supportive Housing units, a Helpline & Drop-In Center, Support Groups, One-on-One Counseling and Court Advocacy.
